FORKS, WA. (January 15, 2014) – Kalaloch Lodge in Olympic National Park, operated by Delaware North Companies (DNC) Parks and Resorts at Kalaloch, Inc., has taken their environmental efforts to a new level by achieving ISO 14001 registration this month. Registration to the standards put forth by the International Organization for Standardization signifies Kalaloch Lodge and Delaware North's continued commitment to stewardship.

ISO 14001 is an internationally recognized set of standards for environmental management. ISO’s 14001 environmental standards are designed to help organizations comply with related laws, regulations and requirements, minimize how their operations affect the environment and look for ways to improve their operations from an environmental perspective.

"ISO 14001 is a continuous improvement process.  It not only lends credibility to our Environmental Management System but ensures our long-term responsibility to minimizing the environmental impact of our operations," said Alec Bartolai, Environmental Manager at Kalaloch Lodge.  "Registration legitimizes our stewardship commitments and demonstrates the priority we place on environmental improvement.  It makes sustainability an integral part of our day-to-day operations and forces us to always consider and look for ways to shrink our environmental footprint."

Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts at Kalaloch Lodge has made a commitment to environmental stewardship through GreenPath®, Delaware North’s award-winning environmental management system (EMS). This program is used to conserve natural resources, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide opportunities for future generations to experience the special places Delaware North operates.
